About Bay Head Beaches

Due to the devastation from Hurricane Sandy, only some of the Bay Head beaches will be open by June 15th. We anticipate Osborne Ave, Bridge Ave and Johnson Street accesses to be completed by that date, and will be continuing throughout the summer to complete work on access via the rest of the streets. Daily beach badges will be required as of June 15th and can be purchased at the Bay Head Improvement Association (BHIA) office on the corner of Mount Street and Lake Avenue. Badges cost $7.00 a day for ages 12 and up. There is no charge for children under age 12. The BHIA office is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily, June 8th through Labor Day.

Please be aware that Bay Head is a small, quiet community with no changing rooms or public restrooms. While no food or beverage is allowed on the beach, sandwiches and subs can be purchased at the local grocery store or restaurant two blocks from the beach.

One mile north of Bay Head is Point Pleasant Beach where there is a commercial boardwalk and many restaurants and entertainment. Visitors can take advantage of being close to this active resort area, while still enjoying the quiet bed and breakfast inns, hotel and unique shops of Bay Head.
